Joan McArthur hails from the U.S. where she went from Group Head at Scali, McCabe, Sloves in New York to Executive Creative Director at Wells, Rich, Greene, Los Angeles and Ogilvy and Mather, Los Angeles where she sat on the North American Board of Directors. Most recently, she served as ECD at McCann Erickson (now MacLaren McCann) in Canada.

Her creative credits include the first advertising campaign for Microsoft, and the longest running ad campaign in Canada, with comedian Thom Sharpe, for Goodyear Tires - as well as numerous international advertising awards, from Clio to One Show Pencils.

In her 20 year-plus career, Joan has worked with legendary leaders in advertising, marketing and technology, including Ed McCabe of Scali McCabe Sloves, Bob Levenson of Doyle Dane Berbach - one of the pioneers of advertising’s Creative Revolution - and even Bill Gates.

She has taught at both Humber College and the Ontario College of Art and Design and in the U.S at the New School in New York, as well as heading up advertising classes in both Boston and Los Angeles. She heads up Strategy Magazine’s Round Table, where marketing and advertising leaders meet to uncover trends, insights and forecasts.

Joan is now a partner at 27 Marbles Training where she creates, tailors and facilitates highly effective and relevant courses for advertising, marketing and other related industry professionals seeking a true competitive edge.
