After a year of development, the brand new Ideation Mater Class workshop officially hit the streets on October 1st. Designed to inform, elevate and open minds, the workshop takes participants through all the vital steps in ideation; understanding and discerning ideas, developing criteria, analyzing the challenge, brainstorming, and then testing and strengthening ideas. Tools and techniques include Upshifting the Triune Brain, Deferring Judgment, Divergence & Convergence, Brainwriting, Brain Building, Forced Connections, and GOOD™.
And it’s not just for Creatives. Ideation Master Class will harness the ideation power of the entire team to ensure your organization is tapping into its true potential. They’ll also experience a step-by-step intensive brainstorming session using your real-world creative and strategic challenges. They won’t just walk away with pages of killer ideas, they’ll also leave armed with ideation power tools, a deeper understanding of their abilities and a new found passion for the entire process.
“Diversity is a topic we don't discuss enough in the marketing community, so I'm glad you raised it.”
This is just one of the emails we got in response to the latest Strategy Magazine Round Table, titled “Inclusion in Advertising” moderated by 27 Marbles partner, Joan McArthur.
A panel of truly ‘diverse’ leaders met in early September to hash out the issues around diversity in Marcom messaging, where it is, where it needs to be, how to get there.
They included: Barb Tilly, Marketing Communications Manager at Ford of Canada; Jacquie Hood, Sales Development Manager at OMNI TV; Tony Pigott, President and CEO, JWT Canada; Saul Gitlin iEVP Strategic Services, Kang & Lee Advertising: Prasad Rao Business Director/Partner, Rao Barrett and Welsh and Mark Childs VP Marketing at Campbell Company.

By leaps - our move to larger offices just across the street at the legendary Carpet Factory in Toronto’s historic Liberty Village, and by bounds - across the border! 27 Marbles Training is now officially international - having been selected to run a North America-wide training program for leading digital agency Organic. The multi-workshop training, already underway, spans offices in San Francisco, New York City and Toronto.
For the last six years, a handful of North America’s most notable presenters and facilitators are selected to design and deliver training programs for a four-day micro-university for personal, professional, and organizational creativity – called, appropriately, Mindcamp.
This year, both Leslie Ehm and Joan McArthur were approached to submit programs under the theme ‘Mind the Gap’ and both were selected by the committee. Leslie will present ‘Idea Noise: The Gap Between Big & Loud Ideas’ while Joan offers ‘Creative Leadership: Bridging the Gap Between the Creative and the Management Mindset’. The partners eagerly anticipate not only contributing to, but also absorbing fresh, new perspectives in creativity, innovation and problem solving.
Located just outside of Toronto, Mindcamp kicks off September 11th, wraps up on the 16th. We hope to see you there.
